Spancirfest in Varazdin

Summer’s end is reserved for many street festivals in continental cities of Croatia. The biggest and most known is Spancirfest in Varazdin, lasting until 26th of August this year, so you can still make it. Numerous concerts and street performers offer something interesting for everyone and there is an especially big number of workshops and performers for children. Clowns and artists start to reign the old baroque city center around 4pm, and, as day becomes night, the programs for children are slowly leaving the streets to give way for contents more enjoyed by grown-ups.

We have to single out Aramis Gehberger a.k.a. Dr. Bubbles. His performances get the most of children’s smiles. Almost hypnotized audiences follow his play with soap bubbles, which doesn’t sound spectacular, but when you see a live performance and all those hands in the air, trying to catch the bubbles, the only thing you can do is grab your camera or mobile-phone to snap a pic and take some of that atmosphere home with you.

For a bit older audience, I recommend a visit to the Prikratki gallery. It will get its own story on our portal. The gallery and the metal artisan Miroslav Prikratki are available year-round in the center of Varazdin, located just opposite of Tourist-board Varazdin office.
These days Varazdin is not falling back after Stari Grad in Hvar or Tkalciceva street in Zagreb, content, number of visitors or prices of food and drinks – wise.
